Clyde Sharks versus South Glasgow, Under 12 Inter-area competition, 2013 - report [posted 05/05/13] Tim Hart reports, "At Whitehaugh (Kelburne CC), South Glasgow Under 12 batted first and scored 160 for 7 in their 30 overs. The innings was set up by all five of the South Glasgow top order reaching double figures - led by 30 (retired) from Kess Sajjad and 28 from Uzzair Shah (both Poloc CC) and 16 from Taha Khan (Clydesdale CC). In reply, Clyde Sharks were reduced to 8 for 4 and never recovered. The South Glasgow bowling effort was led by Daniel Cairns (Clydesdale CC) taking 3 for 3, in his first game of the season. Clyde Sharks finished 65 all out - with the real headline being the 47 extras, including 42 in wides and no balls!" Scorecard.
Ayrshire versus North Glasgow, Under 12 Inter-area competition, 2013 - report [posted 05/05/13] Tim Hart reports, "At Cambusdoon (Ayr CC), a close game saw Ayrshire emerge as the winners, by 14 runs. Batting first, Ayrshire's 120 for 9 owed a lot to Prestwick CC teammates Sam Cole (39*) and Callan Turner (37), both batters returning to wicket having earlier reached the mandatory retirement score of 30. In between their retirements and returns, Amogh Agaram (Hillhead CC) had checked Ayrshire's progress with bowling figures of 2-1-1-3. In reply, Jai Tyagi (Hillhead CC) made a good 30 but no-one was able to support him, as North Glasgow finished on 106 off their 30 overs." Scorecard.
South Glasgow versus Clyde Sharks, Under 14 Inter-area competition, 2013 - report [posted 05/05/13] Tim Hart reports, "At Shawholm (Poloc CC), South Glasgow made it a double over their Clyde rivals - with a 22-run victory. Skipper Owais Shah (Poloc CC) got the South Glasgow innings off to a brisk start, with 28. A 60-run partnership between Luke Macias (Clydesdale CC) and Calum James (Poloc CC), 37 and 27 respectively, looked like setting South Glasgow up for a big total. However, 96 for 3 became 115 all out as Ferguslie CC teammates Taimoor Ahmad (6-1-20-4) and Haroon Tahir (7.4-2-23-3) demolished the South Glasgow middle, and lower, orders. In reply, Clyde looked very well set at 42 for 1. However, the sixth and seventh bowlers (inside fifteen overs!) used by South Glasgow bowled very well in tandem to apply the pressure that dragged their team back into the game. Clydesdale CC teammates Macias and Owain Taylor combined to bowl 11-4-18-3 and a smart stumping from Sahil Kakar (Clydesdale CC) off Shah;s bowling left Clyde 58 for 5. Gregor Chambers (Helensburgh CC) and Tahir then put on 23 to leave the game very much in the balance. Shah had Tahir caught at mid-off before Ihtesham Ul Haq (Clydesdale CC) added to his earlier wicket with three clean bowleds. Ul Haq finished with 7-2-14-4, as Clyde finished 93 all out." Scorecard.
North Glasgow versus Ayrshire, Under 14 Inter-area competition, 2013 - report [posted 05/05/13] Tim Hart reports, "At Hamilton Crescent (West of Scotland CC), North Glasgow cruised to a quick win over an Ayrshire Under 14 team weakened by the rugby commitments of a number of its players. Bowling first, North Glasgow shared the wickets around - as Ayrshire were bowled out for just 49. The reply was short - with extras, unfortunately, top scoring." Scorecard.
