Tim Hart reports, “Wednesday the 24th of May saw the west regional qualifying event take place in the ScotRail Primary Schools Cup. The tournament, which took place at Titwood (Clydesdale CC), saw 65 players from six schools take part in a morning of matches. There were two groups – Group A having four teams (The High School of Glasgow, Kelvinside Academy, St. John the Baptist Primary School Team 1 and The Glasgow Academy) and Group B three teams (Hutchesons’ Grammar School, Merrylee Primary School and St. John the Baptist Primary School Team 2).
“After the twelve matches were completed, The Glasgow Academy were the winners of Group A and Hutchesons’ Grammar School the winners of Group B. Both schools now progress to represent the west region at National Finals Day. Thanks must go to Clydesdale CC for hosting the event and to the players from the Western Warriors Under 15s who helped out by scoring and umpiring (and for running some additional games of ‘Racing Cricket’) on the day.”
