Tim Hart reports, “Sunday the 20th of January saw round two in the new Cricket Scotland west region Under 14 Indoor League. This week’s tri-series featured Clydesdale CC, Ferguslie CC and Kilmarnock CC – with 21 different players participating, supported by three umpires. Clydesdale CC won both their matches, with Ferguslie CC being victorious in one of their two. In the matches, Clydesdale CC pair Bahadar Esakhiel and Owen Gould combined to score 84 runs off just 21 deliveries – with Gould retiring in both his innings too.
“Esakhiel retired once (off just four deliveries!) and Uzair Ahmad (Ferguslie CC), Sonny Cunningham (Clydesdale CC), Ibrahim Faisal (Clydesdale CC), Harry Manley (Ferguslie CC), Nikhil Koteeswaran (Clydesdale CC), Greg Shaw (Ferguslie CC), Dhruv Shenoy (Clydesdale CC) and Adam Tahir (Ferguslie CC) all continued to show that bat is dominating ball in this new series, with all retiring once too – and, although he didn’t quite make the mandatory retirement score of 20, Kilmarnock CC’s Oliver Bowden provided the backbone to his team’s batting efforts – with 19* and 14. Meanwhile, with the ball, Blair Cameron and Qasim Khan (both Ferguslie CC) took the plaudits, as both bowled a wicket maiden – and in the same match!”
