Clydesdale CC were the winners of the inaugural Sandra Livingstone Trophy, following their victory in a 3-team festival, at Hutchesons’ Grammar School. The festival, featuring Clydesdale CC, Glasgow Accies CC and West of Scotland CC, was played in front of a healthy crowd of spectators, with the matches having a modified format – under 13, softball, 6 players per team, with everyone bowling and the batters batting in pairs! As always with any indoor event, there were some unusual feats – 2 bowlers managed to bowl a double-wicket maiden, there was a team hat-trick (run out, bowled, run out) and 3 deliveries which each saw 11 runs scored off them! Overall, the players put on a great afternoon’s entertainment – and thanks must go to the umpires, coaches and spectators. Special thanks, too, must also go to Ian Livingstone for his support of the festival – and his presentation of the festival trophy (to Clydesdale CC) and to the player of the tournament (Fizan Rashid, of Clydesdale CC).
