Schools cricket update

Tim Hart reports, “The Glasgow Academy are the first school to reach the final of the west regional qualifying section in the Cricket Scotland National Secondary Schools Cup.  They beat Holyrood Secondary School (‘Holyrood’) by nine wickets in a semi-final tie played at Titwood (Clydesdale CC) on Wednesday the 31st of May.  Batting first, Holyrood were bowled out for 61, in nineteen overs.  Asad Khan (Clydesdale CC) top scored with 34, but the Holyrood progress was checked by left arm seamer Brodie Thomson (Glasgow Accies CC) who returned figures of 4-1-10-5 from his spell.  In reply, Jack McCamley-Wilding (Glasgow Accies CC) scored 41 not out, as the target was chased in 15.4 overs.”
