Under 14 Indoor League

Tim Hart writes, “Sunday saw the final round of scheduled matches in the 2019 Under 14 Indoor League – with 36 different players representing the five teams who were participating. In match one, the Glasgow Accies CC’s victory over Kilmarnock CC was set up by a good all-round bowling display from the North Glasgow side – highlighted by Rory Paterson bowling a maiden and Zak Iqbal a wicket maiden! Match two saw Uddingston CC bat first and score 51 for 2 from their six overs – a total which Glasgow Accies CC chased quickly, thanks to Paterson scoring 22* and retiring. After 1.1 overs of match three, Ferguslie CC looked to be in a little trouble against Poloc CC, but a great partnership from Craig Glassford and Greg Shaw (with both scoring 22* and retiring) saw Ferguslie CC recover from 6 for 2 to score 81 for 2. The early reply from Poloc CC mirrored the Ferguslie CC innings: Adam Tahir took two wickets to leave Poloc CC 4 for 2, before both Hassaan Mehmood (22*) and Shahan Raja (21*) retired. However, tighter bowling from Ferguslie CC would ultimately be the difference – the Paisley side emerging victorious by 16 runs.

With the scheduled matches now complete, Clydesdale CC and Glasgow Accies CC both have a record of played four, won four, with Clydesdale sitting top of the table, by virtue of being 4.11 runs ahead on net run rate.
